The Better Part

The Better Part is the book of Thomas Keating's talks at the 1998 John Main Seminar held in San Francisco. In the first chapter, Father Keating discusses the central spiritual significance of the story of Martha and Mary. ("Martha, you are distracted by many things...Mary has chosen the better part.") In the light of this theme, Father Keating considers, in turn, Lectio Divina, the Eucharist and contemplation in the modern world.
